So...first of all...I'm online!!! I can finally reconnect with the real world! And while I should be blogging about everything London - that's going to be much too long of a blog to write crouched over my computer that is set up on the floor (we still don't have furniture) - soon, I promise!! Anywho...I've been tagged by a few of you over the last couple months and never had time to respond in the wake of the chaos of this move - so now that I have a few minutes to myself as everyone is in bed and we have no TV... I thought I'd respond to my latest tag from my old pal Packa - a.k.a. Alisa....Here we go!
10 years ago I was...
Way behind Alisa! Let's see...I was 20...just about to turn 21 (on the 21st). I was working for the dreaded Gold's Gym and going to beauty school...sort of. Wade and I had just started dating (for the second time for those of you who know our story) the week before and I was in Bryce Canyon and Zions National Park hiking with friends if my memory serves me correctly!
5 things on my 'to do' list today:
1. Lease a car! Yea!! Well - order one at least - you can't get anything on demand around here!
2. Break down all the boxes we've unpacked
3. Find somewhere to buy a dang broom and some trash cans (this has turned out to be a rediculously difficult task!)
4. Wash some underwear - we're all running out! Laundry moves really slow when you don't have a dryer and only one small drying rack! You should see our place...laundry hung anywhere you can find a spot - towel racks, over the radiators...everyone loves underwear hanging all over their house don't they? The dryer comes Monday (there was only a washer here when we moved in which is very common - and they put them in the kitchen!)...that will be a VERY happy day for all of us!
5. Go find a neighbor to tell us how the garbage collection works around this crazy place!
Things I would do if I became a billionaire:
1. Hire someone to clean my house!
2. Pay off our student loans - I hate those things!
3. Do some major giving away of money - I've always wanted ot just be able to hand a life changing amount of money to someone who really needed it
4. Have Lasik surgery
5. Find a great way to set up my whole family for the rest of their lives without ruining them at the same time...any ideas?
6. Get all my spidar veins lasered away! A lingering gift from my children...
3 of my bad habits:
1. Procrastination
2. Being late
3. Forgetting that just because I have thought it doesn't mean Wade has too! (does that make any sense to any of you?)
5 Places I've lived:
1. University Place, WA
2. Cincinnati, OH
3. Evanston, IL
4. Monroe, WI
5. LONDON, ENGLAND!!
5 jobs I've had:
1. Hostess and server at Mel's Diner (oh the memories, Alisa!), Boathouse Grill, and Chilis
2. Sales manager at Gold's Gym and 24 Hour Fitness
3. Had my own little cleaning gig - 2 doctors offices and a business office
4. Cutting hair out of our little apartment in grad school
5. Office Manager for SOHO USA...which consequently ended up getting busted by the FBI and SEC a month or two after I quit and the owners put in federal prison!
Things most people don't know about me:
1. I was on the math team in 6th grade (you'd never know it now!!!)
2. I'm afraid of the phone...one of those wierd quirky things I inherited from my mother
OK - I'm suppose to tag others now...but I'm not going to...mostly because I'm too tired. It's 12:18 am here and we have to be out the door by 8:15 to make it to church. The District Line (tube) is down for repairs...so we'll be taking a combination one bus and two trains to church tomorrow. FUN!!!
