Noah's first day of school...

Noah went to his first day of PPCD (preschool program for children with disabilities) today! This has been a long time coming! I've searched everywhere for the right program for Noah. Our school district was dragging their feet on putting him in this program, so I went to a number of different private schools trying to find somewhere that had what Noah needed. They were all really expensive (as much as $4500/month), really scary, or an hour away. Totally discouraging! Finally though, the school district came around and I was able to observe the class that would be Noah's. I walked in and honestly had a hard time holding back the tears. It was perfect. Exactly what I was considering paying thousands of dollars for.
Noah's teacher, Miss V. (or Miss "wii" as Noah calls her), said he had a great first day. He seemed to be having a good time when I picked him up. All signs point to things going well for him here. I guess we'll see!

Addie's Famous!

OK - not famous, but my sisters wedding (reception) was featured in the latest Real Simple Weddings issue and Addie is in some of the pictures (actually, I am too if you look really, REALLY close and know what I was wearing!). Pretty cool if you ask me! Here's some pics of the spread... Tessa did an amazing job on her reception and on a really tight budget. She spent the most money on hiring a friend who happened to be an amazing photographer to document the day... www.jessicapetersonphoto.com. She's the one who submitted the pictures to the magazine. Actually, there's a picture from their wedding that was featured in Southern Living Weddings as well.
I'm realizing as I'm writing this that I never finished the blog entry about Tessa and Adam's wedding (which was back in June) so expect that soon and expect LOTS of pictures. Then you'll see how amazingly creative Tessa is and what a fun day we had celebrating her and Adam.

Our first broken bone...

Gotta love the calls from the school nurse...usually a kid with a fever, or an upset stomach. This time we had something a little more interesting! Somehow, another kid kicked Drew's hand in PE and busted it! Actually, it was a really small break - they called it a "crimp", but it was enough to warrant a cast for 4 weeks! I had to laugh as Drew tried to suppress his excitement when he found out he was getting a cast. The excitement lasted about 5 minutes...until he realized he was stuck with this thing for 4 weeks, his arm really itched, and he couldn't scratch it! Poor kid!

New Adventures...

So, when Wade came to me a couple of months ago with the prospect of a job change...my answer was: "as long as you're happy dear...oh, and that we DON'T HAVE TO MOVE!" Luckily, the job met both criteria and Wade is now working as the "Vice President of Retail" for Rockfish Interactive. Leaving Rapp was hard - they've been good to us over the last 5 years and Wade is a fiercely loyal guy, but the opportunity overpowered Wade's loyalty. He started in November, and has been really happy with the move. The kids and I have also been really happy because Wade's usually home for dinner and is traveling less! Let's hope it continues!
