The Zoo

The kids were out of school on Columbus Day & because Wade has been travelling almost solid for the last few weeks, he took it off too and we went to the Zoo. It was a little wet, which kept the crowds away, and a little cool, which kept down the zoo stench...even I had a good time! My favorite part of the day was watching Noah react to the animals. He was often a little nervous, but loved pointing out and imitating the animals he knew. Luke was awesome - slept the ENTIRE time including the drive there and back!
Here's a crazy elephant trying to break a log against the fence...
and a bow-legged giraffe...Love this shot of my boys...In a stagecoach...not especially "zooish", but this is Texas you know!

Grandma Wanna's Visit...

Wade's mom was able to come for a visit last month to see Luke, the new house, etc. We always love it when she comes...the kids because of all the attention she gives them...me, because she's such a big help when she's here! "Grandma Wanna" came to soccer games, helped with homework and ate lunch with both Drew and Addie at school (which they both told me was their favorite part of her visit). She played with Noah and rocked Luke, fed the kids treats from her purse, and sang her famous lullabies. We're lucky to have her as a mother and grandmother and hope she can come back soon!
