More firsts...

Just a couple pictures of Addison's first soccer practice and first dance class. They're too cute not to post! By the way - I didn't pose her in these pics, this is all Addie!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!!!

Yeah...so I'm not one of those moms that tearfully sends her kids off to that first day of school...especially not this year! Once I finally delivered Drew and Addie to their classrooms, (which was a bit chaotic as Wade's out of town and I had to get myself and all 4 kids ready and out the door by 7:45 - something I couldn't do with only 3 kids) I had to restrain myself from doing the happy dance all the way back out to the car! Does that make me a bad mom!!?? Remember...my kids have been out of school since APRIL 5th! Yes, it was a long summer, especially with this mom too busy with all things moving and having babies to keep the kids as busy as I should. I love my kids, but it is SO time for routine to return and my kids to do something besides watch TV!

Anyway, both kids seemed to have a good day - liked their teachers, made friends, etc. and I think will go back willingly tomorrow? They were both a little bummed that they only get one recess - which I have to agree is lame - and they both came home really tired and grumpy. Needless to say, bed-time came a little easier tonight.

So here's a few pictures (that I took after school because I forgot to do it this morning) of Addison's first day of Kindergarten and Drew's first day of 2nd grade...

Luke's Blessing

We blessed Luke on the 16th - a little earlier than we usually would have, but we wanted to do it before my parents headed back to Wisconsin. We were lucky enough to get my brother Matt and his wife Amanda up here from Houston as well. That along with good friends who were able to be there and a perfect little Luke (who didn't make a peep during the blessing and managed not to poop OR spit up on his little white outfit) made for a perfect day... Some of the guys who stood in the circle(those available for photos after church)...Kirk Rasmussen, my brother Matt, Chris Kneeland, and my dad. We're missing our other friend Matt Martin and the bishopric from our ward. Our first family picture with Luke...not the best one ever, but it will do!
A few more shots from the day...Addison couldn't resist getting in on the photo shoot action...Matt and Amanda looking awfully parental...
