Birthdays!

Noah and Addison's birthdays both fell within a few days of arriving in Texas (Noah turned 2 and Addie 5) - so they pretty much got the shaft on celebrating this year. Poor Noah didn't even get a cake, and Addie's was a last minute purchase at Target! Sad...but we at least took a few pictures to prove we did try to celebrate...

Noah opening his presents...
We went swimming for Addison's birthday and then came home for cake and presents...at about 10 pm...so here she is celebrating the big 5 in her pajamas!
Noah helping himself to some birthday cake. I figured since the kid didn't even get his own cake, I'd let it slide!
Happy birthday, Kiddos! I promise next year we'll go all out!!!

The "welcome back" storm...

After a few days of being back in Texas, we were slammed by the worst storm this area has seen for a few years. I talked about it a little a few posts ago so I won't go into too much detail, but we knew people with fences and trees down, roof damage, and 12+ hour power outages. We were lucky...didn't even lose power...just blew over the BBQ and scared us into the laundry room to take cover! Anyway - here are some pictures:The storm as it rolled in at about 6 pm...The amazing sunset after the storm was over...

Go, Noah!

I just have to post because I'm so excited about Noah today...
My little man who wasn't saying a word a week ago is now consistently saying "uh-oh" and "yea!" and today said and signed "Mommy" and pointed to and said "nose". He's said a few words in the past, but nothing has stuck for more than a day or two, so I'm encouraged, but we'll see. For some reason, I feel like we've had a breakthrough this time.
We have our first meeting with the Texas Early Intervention program next week and they are bringing a speech therapist. Hopefully we'll have Noah on regular program soon!

The truck...

We've had requests for pictures of Wade's new Texas-sized rig...so here it is! Apparently, what we learned from our time in fuel-efficient London was to buy the biggest gas-guzzler we could find! Wade's really wanted a truck since he had to sell his when we left for graduate school, so this is his reward for working his tail off all these years.
Bring on the red-neck jokes!

The latest...

Our stuff has arrived...which means I have my computer back...and a lot of unpacking to do! We're usually the type that have the house all unpacked within a few days, but with me working at about half power right now and too pregnant to lift much and move things around as I please, it's going a little slow. We're getting there though!

Anyway...I'm way backlogged on my blogs, so I'm going to try to catch up over the next few days...so check back soon!
