Sorry about the lack in posts...computer on a boat somewhere in the Atlantic = no posts! I'm happy to report though, that we just got word that our stuff will be here from London on Wednesday! Then we can really settle in here. We've been here for 2 weeks now making due with what we'd left in storage. Honestly it hasn't been bad at all, but it will be great to really get moved in!
The first two weeks have been great...HOT, but great! We're averaging in the upper 90s right now, but are expected to hit the big 100 next week. I'm so grateful for the neighborhood pool!! I'm sure I scare the other swimmers when I bust out my 33 weeks of pregnantness in a swimming suit, but I'm just too hot to care so we spend a lot of time there. My kids already have their little brown TX complexions back! We've spent our first evening in the laundry room - AKA storm shelter - best storm we've ever seen here blew threw a few days after we arrived...80 mph winds, tornadoes, uprooted trees, the works. Luckily, we escaped without damage...just a few scrapes to the BBQ when it blew into the brick post on our back patio. Unfortunately, many of our friend's weren't so lucky! I have some pics that I'll post when I get the computer.
The house is fabulous, although we're realizing how much we'd adapted to living in 1000 sq ft since we've found we're pretty much living in 3 rooms of this house right now. It's so weird to have so much space!! I think part of it is that we don't have much stuff here yet - I figure when everything gets here and we fill things up a little more it won't feel so strange? I also can't get over how much we drive here! We've put over 4000 miles on our van since we bought it 2 months ago. We put 5000 miles on our car in London the whole time we were there! Of course it doesn't help that we still haven't found a car for Wade, which means I'm taking him back and forth to work most days. Hopefully that will be remedied soon!
Anyway - so we're alive, happy and settling back in to life here! We'll post more in the next week or so!
