Happy Valentine's Day!

I love Valentine's Day. It's just one of those nice holidays that give and extra excuse to be nice to each other, make treats and get flowers! Nothing bad about that! Wade and I didn't get to go out because we have no one to babysit around here, plus with our birthday in a week, we usually just go all out then instead. But he did send me these beautiful flowers!

Of course you can't have Valentine's day without baking something heart-shaped, right? We didn't go all out, but the kids wanted to decorate cookies - which worked out great as we needed something to take to the monthly school cake stall (bake sale). Here's the kids cookies (don't they look appetising?!)...

I have to say I was a little disappointed that they don't make a bigger deal about it all here. I'm looking forward to being back in the states for the next Valentine's day ...babysitters a plenty, school Valentine parties, a bigger kitchen to make treats in and a house to decorate!
